Don Lemon is a Dick

I can say that, right?

“I have a responsibility — not only as a journalist but as an American — to tell the truth,” former CNN anchor Don Lemon tells localmemphis.com. “In order to fulfill the promise of the Constitution, we have to stand up for what is right. We have to stand up for the truth.” Amen! Only Don Lemon is a pompous prick who talks out of both sides of his mouth. Check this out….

“I don’t believe in platforming liars and bigots, insurrectionists and election deniers and putting them on the same footing as people who are telling the truth — people who are fighting for what’s right, people who are abiding by the Constitution.”

I guess Don Lemon missed the memo from German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. Mr. Lemon claims God-like power to divine truth from lies. Sorry, “disinformation.” The ex-talking head reserves the right to exile anyone who doesn’t conform to His judgement. Sorry, “de-platform.”

I repeat: Don Lemon’s hubris is Biblical. Matthew 12:30: "Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters." Better yet, John 15:6 "If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire, and burned."

That is, of course, the danger of censorship. It requires violence. When Vladimir Putin suppresses Internet dissent, he does so with guns, prison, torture and execution.

And yet pro-censorship Progressives like Mr. Lemon wrap themselves in the U.S. Constitution, which puts freedom of speech front and center. The hypocrisy is nothing less than stunning.

“I think that would be a dereliction of journalistic duty to do those sorts of things. That is what has gotten me to this point, and that is what is going to carry me forward. “To know that I am standing up and abiding by the Constitution, which my profession demands that I do because we are listing in the First Amendment of the Constitution, which is freedom of speech, freedom of expression and freedom of the press.”

Censorship is freedom! Are you fucking kidding me? How does he get away with that shit?

The same way Don Lemon became a CNN anchor: by cloaking himself in the mantle of identity-driven self-righteousness. Like this:

When presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy asserts that the Second Amendment’s right to bear arms secured black Americans’ civil rights, Lemon pulls the race card: “When you are a black skin and you live in this country you can disagree with me.”

CNN didn’t fire Lemon for this fuck-objective-journalism outburst. In fact, CNN hired the gay African American for his way-left-leaning political/personal perspective. Which he wielded– uncensored, promoted, lionized and financially rewarded – for seventeen years.

Including his infamous comments on another Republican presidential candidate: “Nikki Haley isn’t in her prime, sorry. When a woman is considered to be in her prime — in her 20s, 30s and maybe her 40s.”

Lemon returned on-air after publicly apologizing for his “in-artful and irrelevant” comments. In-artful? That’s like saying that cheating on your wife is “inelegant.” Sensitivity training that, CNN.

Anyway, Don Lemon eventually got shit-canned. More importantly, he’s no outlier.

All three 24-hour news networks make their bones pimping predetermined politics, stoking the fires of partisan passions. All three networks promote personality cults for on-air “journalists” who brook no opposition.

Lemon’s dismissal has precisely no one in the news biz rethinking their lack of objectivity or fairness. Least of all Don Lemon.

“I know people say, ‘I miss you on television. What is your next move?’ I’m figuring that out. I don’t have to be in a rush . I think people rush and they end up making the wrong the decisions. I’m not rushing into anything.”

This from a man who never hesitated to make a rush to judgement on stories that deserved a second, third and fourth look.

As a journalist, I always assumed that everyone was lying. My job: expose those lies through tough questions. If the truth happened to make an appearance, awesome!

I also believed everyone deserves to be heard, no matter how bone-headed or hateful their speech. Still do. You?
